Fire Risk Assessment

A fire risk assessment is an essential process designed to identify, manage, and mitigate fire-related risks within properties. Here in Wales there are a vast amount of both historical and modern buildings, with old buildings being renovated and modernised into a new use, both business and leisure. Ensuring the safety of these properties against fire is of the upmost importance, while also being within the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005  and it amendments thereafter.

A fire risk assessment is not just a precautionary measure but a fundamental requirement to protect lives, property, and investments. By understanding and implementing a comprehensive fire risk assessment, property owners and managers can significantly reduce the likelihood of a fire, ensuring compliance with safety standards and their legal obligations.

The Fire Risk Assessment is a process, where your fire risk assessor will look at your property’s layout, design, furniture and the processes being undertaken within or around it, and then evaluate it for any fire hazards or potential fire hazards, where the possibility of fire from those tasks and processes can be removed or reduced. In addition to this, the assessor will look at your fire related documentation for carrying out the required checks and testing routines, and If required the need for more additional documentation to confirm that all the relevant fire safety equipment is fully serviceable and in full working order and if not, what actions are taken to ensure that they are. Also whether any form of staff fire safety training has been received by any staff or relevant individuals.  This so as to ensure the well-being of occupants and visitors alike.

Moreover, a comprehensive assessment helps create a culture of safety among building occupants. With regular updates and reviews, a fire risk assessment remains a dynamic tool that adapts to changes in building use or structure, ensuring ongoing protection against the ever-present threat of fire.
